Built in the first half of the 18th century, the Hôtel de Caumont is the work of Parisian architect Robert de Cotte, built under the supervision of Georges Vallon. Starting in July 2013, an extensive restoration program was launched to restore the Hôtel de Caumont to its former glory, while adding some special Provencal touches.
The Hôtel de Caumont will be a center for art and culture, an elegant venue for Luxe Events here in Aix-en-Provence’s Mazarin neighborhood. Hôtel de Caumont plans to showcase the great names of the history of art within an intimate, elegant atmosphere of a mansion. Here are a few sneak peeks at the results of the extensive renovation. The Hôtel de Caumont opens this May… stay tuned for more.
On May 6th their first art exhibition will open, including paintings by Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto (1697-1768), who is recognized as the cornerstone of the vedute artistic genre, the most admired Venetian artistic creation from the 18th century in Europe.
Between the art and luxe event space, we simply cannot wait for the launch later this spring.
